Event Memorializes Longtime Supporter and Aids Scholarship Fund

Steven Zack, long-running chair of Hillel Day School’s Golf Classic, as well as a former member of the school’s board of trustees and parent of Hillel students, who passed away in March 2011, was paid honor by the school he tirelessly served with the renaming of his favorite annual fundraiser: The Hillel Day School Steven Zack Memorial Golf Classic.

Since 1891, Detroit’s Eastern Market has been a hub of commerce in the city. The more things change… the more they don’t.

It was arguably the best turnout that Yad Ezra, the region’s only kosher food bank, has enjoyed since it began hosting the yearly Ante Up for Hunger fundraiser back in 2006. The event raised thousands of badly needed dollars to help offset an increased demand for services from the community.
